Acadian Monitoring Services Adds MobileHelp Device to Product Line

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

(PRWEB) July 19, 2012

Acadian Monitoring Services, a division of Acadian companies and a provider of medical, fire and security monitoring for homes, businesses, and individuals, has added a new and innovative medical alert system to its product line.

The MobileHelp device is a portable, cellular-based, two-way voice mobile unit with GPS location services. When activated, the MobileHelp unit detects and reports the user?s location using GPS satellites. The dispatcher is then able to communicate with the subscriber over an AT&T cellular network and dispatch the appropriate authorities based on the subscriber?s actual location.

The MobileHelp system also includes a permission-based interactive online tool which enables caregivers or the subscriber?s loved ones to view the location of the subscriber in real-time, using Google Maps technology. Email notifications with event location maps can be sent to pre-determined responders within seconds after the button has been pushed.

?With the baby boomer generation aging and retiring, yet still being mobile and active, the traditional landline phone-based medical alert system is no longer meeting their needs,? says Blane Comeaux, vice president of AMS. ?This device is perfect for the ?on the go? senior who can still travel, drive a car and live their day-to-day lives, while still having the extra peace of mind a medical alert system affords them and their families.?

AMS operates three monitoring centers staffed by highly trained professionals that respond to medical and security alerts for thousands of subscribers nationwide. AMS has expanded over the last twenty years to include personal emergency response systems, mobile monitoring, advanced video security systems, access control, security monitoring, and telehealth monitoring.

Since 1971, Acadian has been committed to providing the highest level of emergency medical care and transportation possible. In the past decade, the company has expanded to include a diverse suite of services in health, safety, and transportation. Acadian?s six divisions are Acadian Ambulance Service, Acadian Monitoring Services, Air Med, Executive Aircraft Charter Service, National EMS Academy and Safety Management Systems.

Advanced Care Pediatrics, a provider of pediatric home care services and private-duty nursing within the Atlanta-metro area, has recently expanded their service area, totaling 17 Metro Atlanta and North Georgia counties to better serve the state’s medically fragile children. ACP currently operates as a participating provider in the Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP). “We are truly excited to grow our service area as it allows us to provide much-needed private-duty nursing services to more of Georgia’s medically fragile children. By adding seven additional counties to our original 10, our nurses are available to over 50% of Georgia’s population,” said Chris Goodwin, CEO of Advanced Care Pediatrics. With the addition of the new counties, ACP currently provides pediatric home care services to Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, Forsyth, Hall, Walton, Rockdale, Henry, Clayton, Fayette, Coweta, Carroll, Douglas, Paulding, Bartow, and Cherokee counties.
