My hands don’t shake anymore, and it’s totally different.” A television program on medical cannabis caught the attention of the geriatric home’s head nurse. [Inbal Koren, Head Nurse, Hadarim Geriatric Home]: “We were simply looking for some kind of medicine that will bring relief… and we found it.” Since the 19th century, cannabis has been known to ease pain. And since 2008, the Israeli Ministry of Health has given limited permits for companies providing medical cannabis, allowing patients to use it for the relief of diseases and severe side effects. Many elderly or disabled clients and their families seek to hire caregivers directly, sidestepping agencies in favor of lower rates. Caregivers try to connect with those potential employers by placing ads in newspapers, Internet services such as Craigslist, or magazines targeting seniors. The report confirms that the current landscape is creating risk for consumers that could be alleviated by legislation.

L.V.N. is a Licensed Vocational Nurse with a current valid state license. They have the technical knowledge to perform nursing duties and patient care. They provide prescribed medical treatments such as injections, wound care, catheter care, set up and administer medication in addition to personal care.
R.N. is a Registered Nurse with a current valid state license. They perform frequent patient evaluations which include monitoring, performing procedures, administering IV medications, assessments and implementing the nursing care plan provided by the physician
